Tidbits...
She Walks on Water won 3rd place in the American Songwriter Lyric Contest for July/August 2022. Here's what the kind judges had to say:
*for King & Country: "Captivating and some of the best songs take familiar ideas and spin it in a fresh thought."
*Bonnie Baker: "She walks on water and dances on wine... like the irony of this storyline. Someone who 'walks on water' is someone we think is perfect and then putting that with the story of someone being more free to dance and be joyful while drinking wine. Like the feel of this."
*Lance Carpenter: "Great first line, really pulled me in. Very simple short lyric but it told the story and sometimes that's all you need."
She Walks on Water and I am the Water were recorded at Bryan Cumming's Studio 123. Great guy, very talented, and easy to work with. He added everything that wasn't me singing or playing acoustic guitar.
Could This Be, Delicious in June, and It's a Melody in the 'red section' were also recorded at Bryan's with Rick Lonow on drums, David Andersen on electric guitar, George Leedham on strings, me on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Bryan on flute, bass, and everything else. The guy is talented; what can I say?
The album, Beautiful Sad, was recorded a few years back. George Leedham played violin, cello, and mandolin on the tracks. He is an amazing musician. Dale Petersohn added some sweet guitar playing as well. I'm doing vocals and guitar on all the tracks. Yoshi is the handsome fella on
the cover.
I was very happy to receive word that KSER, a wonderful and wildly eclectic independent radio station out of Everett, WA was adding Beautiful Sad for airplay beginning November 2022. I'm quite honored to be included.
